Over the past months I've decided to devote more of my free time to software development. I've also gotten serious about integrating agents into my workflows.
So far, it's gone astoundingly well! I ship something between 20-100x as much code as I did last year, and it's largely better code.
Lately I've been on a kick of making micro-projects, in part inspired by the esoteric and eccentric workflows of . Not all of that deserves its own blog post, though, so here's a roundup!
Productivity tracking
I've primarily been using for the past several months. But this means my commit activity is now split between a personal GitHub, a work GitHub, a few Tangled accounts - and as of the past few weeks, hundreds of ephemeral agent accounts.
I decided to wire up https://dev.permadeath.com, a live dashboard of what I've been working on lately. It presents commit activity alongside token burn data collected from my agentic hosts running :
This dashboard builds on my prior blog post on calculating Tangled network percentages. After adjusting for a lot of confounding factors and recent growth in the network, my best estimate is that I'm around 2% of "real" activity.
Spend more money on novelty domains
Sometimes I'll decide to launch a project just because I got a great domain for it - or get stalled because I can't think of a good one! It was maybe a bit easier when there just weren't as many TLDs, but now there's far too many to follow.
That's why I made , a new service using Claude to filter down ICANN and registrar updates to only the atproto-relevant handles.
It publishes to https://handle.watch (including RSS), as well as to the handle.watch Standard Site (via )
Turning long threads into longreads
I've been on Bluesky for over three years now - before even existed. In that time I've had a lot of discussions that probably could be expanded beyond the microblogging format, but are just kind of... never going to get seen again.
So I decided to extend with a new sub-project, Threadbare: a tool to find threads from your account that could be great blog posts. This doesn't just look for your "longest" or "most popular" threads: it attempts to use some basic stylometrics to determine what might be the seed of an interesting longer blog post.
Keeping up with the pace
These are just some smaller side projects. If you want to follow along with the bigger ones? Code/project development activity is on https://dev.permadeath.com, and my agents are directly posting to https://vibescrobble.com. I also keep an updated Starter Pack of projects with their own atproto accounts:
